The cheapest places for a holiday in Turkey

Turkey continues to top the list for Brits seeking sunshine without stretching their budget. In fact, recent reports show Turkey ranking among the cheapest family holiday destinations for UK travellers, thanks to favourable exchange rates and competitive package prices.

If you’re hoping to get more for your money, we’ve rounded up some of the best locations for cheap holidays in Turkey, so you can book with confidence. Whether you prefer beach resorts, cultural hotspots, or scenic landscapes, there are plenty of affordable options available.

Fethiye

Fethiye is a fantastic low-cost option, particularly during the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn when prices dip, but temperatures remain pleasantly warm. The town offers a relaxed atmosphere and easy ways to save, including the affordable local minibus system, known as the dolmus.

Budget-friendly activities include visiting the ancient Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs and strolling through Fethi Bey Park. With scenic harbour views and access to beautiful beaches nearby, Fethiye delivers excellent value without compromising on experience.

Marmaris

For travellers focused on stretching their spending money, Marmaris is well known for its value, especially if you opt for an all-inclusive stay. Budget-friendly complexes such as Club Atrium, Pineta Club and Golden Orange Apartments often offer competitive weekly rates, particularly in May before peak summer prices kick in.

Hiking up to Marmaris Castle and Museum rewards you with sweeping coastal views at no cost, while days spent relaxing on Long Beach keep entertainment simple and affordable. Travelling just outside the busiest weeks can make a noticeable difference to overall costs.

Alanya

Alanya enjoys an average of around 300 days of sunshine each year, making it an appealing choice between May and September. The resort combines lively beaches with affordable attractions.

You can take the Teleferik cable car up to Alanya Castle for panoramic views, explore Damlatas Cave, browse colourful Turkish bazaars or unwind on Cleopatra or Portokal Beach. Nearby areas, such as Konakli and Side, also offer accessible day trips packed with history and scenic coastlines.

Compared with other Mediterranean hotspots, Alanya remains one of the more budget-friendly bases along the Turkish Riviera.

Cappadocia

For something different, Cappadocia offers striking rock formations and unforgettable hot air balloon backdrops. Visiting between March and May means milder weather and fewer crowds.

Travellers on a budget often stay in Göreme, using car hire or ATV tours to explore the ancient valleys. Hiking through Red and Rose Valley is an inexpensive option, but delivers spectacular views, proving that Turkey’s inland regions can be just as affordable as its beaches.
