The attractive town of Kalkan was once an Ottoman-Greek fishing village called Kalamaki. Discovered by travellers in the 1980s, Kalkan has developed into a popular holiday destination with family-run hotels in renovated village houses – many of which have character-filled roof terraces, narrow cobbled streets with inviting boutiques, sophisticated souvenir shops, rooftop restaurants, and harbourside bars.
